OUR STORY
Dirt Dauber’s roots date back to 1975, when Marcus Sewell and his father, David Sewell, started the original business together. A well-known and respected member of the local community, David came up with the company’s name and helped Marcus get started by providing equipment, guidance, and support, while Marcus handled the jobs and operated the machinery.
After about a year, Marcus stepped away from Dirt Dauber and pursued other opportunities. He later built a decades-long career in large-scale construction, working on major projects across the United States and around the world. Over the years, Marcus advanced from equipment operator to construction manager, leading complex industrial projects and teams of up to 1,500 people.
In 2025, Marcus revived Dirt Dauber in North Central Arkansas, bringing decades of experience home and combining it with dependable local service and a commitment to doing every job right.
The Dirt Dauber name was inspired by the mud dauber wasp—a hardworking builder that uses earth to create strong, carefully constructed nests. It is a fitting symbol for a company built around dirt work.

MARCUS SEWELL
Marcus leads Dirt Dauber with decades of heavy-construction experience. He evaluates each project, plans the work, operates equipment, and oversees company projects from start to finish.

Ross brings skill and precision to the job site, operating heavy equipment for grading, excavation, land clearing, roadwork, and site preparation.
